Seriously. I have read over and over about the horrible things that the CEO from Abercrombie & Fitch has said and my advice is don't be a douche. Really. You can be an elitist pig, but maybe keep that to yourself... or just don't. The world doesn't need more of you. What am I so bothered about?
This was taken from a 2006 Salon article that seems to have gone viral just recently.
“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids,” he’s quoted as saying in the article. “Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”
Not to mention that he won't sell extra large clothing for women because he doesn't want fat girls wearing his clothes. Oh, and he will only hire pretty people.
So there are two lessons today.
Lesson One: Don't be a jerk and hate people as a way of business. You can, but eventually people are going to catch on and say you are a total moron.
Lesson Two: Even more important, things you say on the internet last forever. So watch it. Say nice things. Be a good person. Show your best. Because every last thing you say or do will last forever and ever and just might come back to bite you.
